August Winery Spotlight: Knight Hill Winery

Located in the Rattlesnake Hills sub-appellation of the Yakima Valley is the town of Zillah. Here you will find a handful of smaller producers creating stellar wines in an eclectic set of tasting rooms. There are more wineries in this neighborhood than space to write about them. The following is a list of the stand-out tasting rooms you won’t want to miss during your visit to the Rattlesnake Hills region of the Yakima Valley.Ann and Terry

The theme of the Zillah wine tour is agricultural history and natural beauty. Knight Hill Winery fits the theme. The tasting room is converted from a horse barn surrounded by vineyards, alfalfa and fruit trees with a 360-degree panoramic view. Owners Anne and Terry Harrison offer an eclectic variety of red and whites along with their warm hospitality. During your visit be sure to sample the verdelho, a Portuguese white wine just introduced to the Yakima Valley. This is a picnic-friendly winery, with tables set up in a courtyard adjacent to the tasting room.
