07 Mar Côte Bonneville ~ one of Washington’s most dynamic brands
It’s been 25 years in the making. DuBrul Vineyard has served as the centerpiece for world class wines in Washington state from its very first harvest. In 1992 when Hugh and Kathy Shiels planted the vineyard they knew that great wine is made in the vineyard and they knew they had premier site for growing grapes.
In 2001 they founded Côte Bonneville winery with the goal of producing classically styled wines that best express this spectacular site. Winemaker Kerry Shiels creates world class wines from all six varietals grown in the vineyard. The Shiels were one of the first in Washington State to establish a quality focused estate winery.
Côte Bonneville has been recognized as one of the top wineries in Washington state for years, but seemed relatively inaccessible to the general public. The vineyard and winery, located in Sunnyside, WA has been open by appointment only until now. In August of 2016, the tasting room opened in a newly remodeled historic Train Station.
