2018 Catch the Crush

Join the wineries of the Yakima Valley as they celebrate harvest during  Wine Yakima Valley’s Annual Catch the Crush event, October 13 and 14, 2018. Each winery offers its own celebratory activities including grape stomps, harvest and crush activities, tours, free-run juice, hors d’oeuvres, live music, and of course. . .wine tasting.

Purchase a PREMIER PASS and enjoy exclusive benefits available only during this event weekend. PREMIER PASS holders will be able to experience a variety of specialty Catch the Crush food pairings, library tastings, and tours not available to the public.

Pass sales for this event have ended.  Premier Passes will be available at the following wineries beginning Saturday October 13, 2018.  Kana Winery, Trevor Cellars, Two Mountain Winery, Airfield Estates Winery, Tapteil Vineyard Winery.

Heading to Wine Country? Don’t forget:  Your Premier Pass! It’s your ticket to all the exclusive benefits. A wineglass! Wineries can’t provide enough glasses during event weekends so please bring one from home or purchase one at your first stop. And of course, your photo I.D. and a designated driver!

Yakima Area Wineries

AntoLin Cellars – Catch the Crush at AntoLin Cellars means Premier Pass holders will enjoy waived tasting fees. Tasting fee also waived with 12-bottle case purchase of our Brandon’s Board Oh! (Bordeaux Blend).  Kick off the weekend Friday night, 10/12, with live music by David Douglas. Music starts at 7pm, No Cover. While you’re tasting Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, have food delivered to your table by Local Purveyors. Art on display by Paul Henderson in their Tasting Room Gallery.  Hours: Friday 1pm – 9pm, Saturday 1pm – 7pm, Sunday 12pm – 4pm. Tasty Art, Wine, Food and Music – Catch the Crush action at 14 N. ♥Gilbert Cellars – Experience the buzz of downtown Yakima in the Fall! Join us at our Tasting Room on historic North Front Street to enjoy a tasting of our Fall releases, as well as a glimpse into the 2018 vintage. Complimentary for Premier Pass holders ($10 for non- Pass Holders) Join the club! Sign up for an Ahtanum Ridge membership, and save an additional 5% on that day’s purchase. No Tastings after 5pm. ♥Kana Winery – Producing wine since 2002. Saturday 10- 5pm: Taste select wines Catch the Crush Weekend. Specializing in Rhone Varietals, five red wines, two white wines. With special discounts upon purchase. Music- Rock n Roll 6-10pm location 10 S. 2nd St. Premier Passes are available for sale at Kana beginning Saturday, October 13. 

Owen Roe – While you are out and about exploring the Yakima Valley, stop into our winery from 11-5pm for a sneak peek at our 2018 Harvest. We will feature a selection of estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and our popular Owen Roe blends. Enjoy mingling with our crew and fellow wine enthusiasts while we finish up our wonderful harvest. Event tasting fee is $10. Premier Pass holders and club members will receive waived admission.

♥Southard Winery Tasting Room – Come visit our new tasting room, 811 West Yakima Ave, Yakima.

♥Treveri Sparkling Cellars – Enjoy tastings of award winning sparkling wines the entire weekend.  There will be an Oktoberfest menu on site, including fall soups and Oktoberfest platters.  Start stocking up on sparkling wines for the holidays with additional case discounts on purchases (see list offered in the Tasting Room only).  Club Members you may want to make your reservations now for the Club Lounge that weekend.  Come kick back and let us take care of you as you relax in our fabulous Sparkle Tasting Room!  Premier Passes are available for sale at Trevor Cellars beginning Saturday, October 13

♥Wilridge Vineyard, Winery & Distillery – Open Noon-8:00 PM Daily. Walking tour at 1pm, grape stomp at 2pm and vineyard adventures all day long.  Live music on the side porch from 2-5pm daily. Saturday, Stimulus Package featuring Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals by 3 guys who always bring a good time and put on a great show. Sunday Singer Songwriter, Ben Johnson on Guitar with Dustin Rademaiher and his Upright Bass. What I Crave food truck on-site from 12-5 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Zillah Area Wineries

♥Covet Cellars – Come visit and play a round of guess the grape. We will have grapes from most of the common varietals that grow around the Yakima Valley. See if you can guess them correctly. Tasting fee waived for Premier Pass holders.

$Dineen Family Vineyards – We look forward to welcoming you to Catch the Crush at Dineen Vineyards! Harvest will be in full swing and we believe it will be a wonderful vintage. Enjoy some of our award winning wine while admiring the vines and vistas of Mounts Adams and Rainier. Chef Chris Guerra will be serving pizzas featuring ingredients from the fall harvest and we will be offering free tastings of our Kamiakin label wines to Premier Pass holders.

♥Horizon’s Edge Winery – Come enjoy a great weekend away with wonderful wines to sample and tons of fun!! We will have a new Batch of Sweet Chardonnay in the 1.5 Liter bottles and possibly a new Tempranillo Red Blend. If you haven’t been here since our New Petit Verdot Port was released, come taste a sample. Tasting fee will be waived for Premier Passport holders. You can observe fermenting grapes, and hopefully taste fresh Chardonnay and Muscat Canelli right out of the tank. Winemaker David Padgett will be hard at work harvesting grapes from our 18 acre vineyard.

J. Bell Cellars – Activities and Pass benefits are on the way.

♥Knight Hill Winery – Experience harvest 2018.  Help with a punch down or sorting…whatever is happening that day.  Our new release is a GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend) and will be on hand.  Tastings of the fermenting whites (federweisser) may be available if they are still bubbling away.  The skies and scenery are beautiful this time of year…bring a picnic and enjoy the patio or a walk in the vineyard.

♥Maison de Padgett Winery – We will have 11 wines for you to sample along with possibly a chance to taste our fermenting Gewurztraminer juice from the 2018 harvest. We will be releasing a new Sophias Big Break Red Wine and the Amity Joe Red Blend . Tasting fee will be waived for Premier Passport Holders. We might even have a new Cherry port on the bar.

♥Masset Winery – Catch the Crush tasting fee waved for Premier Pass and Wine Club members. Large logo glasses available for only $5 during the event.  Members can pick up their Harvest Shipment or you can join the club this weekend and get additional benefits. New Releases for this event include Grenache Noir and Petite Verdot.

$Paradisos del Sol Winery  – We offer a 9-course micro-mini Lilliputian winemaker’s plate. We start off with an exquisite Mushroom Pâté to accompany our dry Rosé Paradiso, a sliver of Brie cheese for the Oyster White, Peanut Sauce marries with the Sève, and Pasta Arti-Pesto with our B’s Blend. Next are our reds—with our Sangiovese we are serving Glondo’s Pepperoni and with Paradisos Red is Glondo’s salami. We finally have our Cabernet Sauvignon back again with our ever famous Bleu Cheese Dip. And now we are ready for dessert, two of them! With the Zort, we have a sliver of dark chocolate. Last is our Angelica SR. We have a skosh of pumpkin custard (vegan) to go with that. Tasting fee $10 waived with $20 purchase. ♥Tanjuli Winery – Crisp Autumn air, the harvest sun and plump clusters of grape being transformed to delicious wines await you at Tanjuli Winery. Premier Pass holders taste free Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am – 5:00pm.  “The Chophouse at The Old Warehouse” is joining forces with Tanjuli Winery from 11am-4pm Saturday October 13th to provide great food with our amazing Estate wines, Picpoul Blanc, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Carmenere, Nebbiolo, Aglianico , Sagrantino, Orange Muscat and Black Muscat Port. So come immerse yourselves in the sights , sounds and smells of the crush at Tanjuli Winery. Also check out all the harvest specials.

♥Two Mountain Winery – Harvest season is upon us! Join us and become a Wine Maker for A Day as we walk you through the full experience of what our winemakers do (other than just make great wine!). Event will be from 1-3 pm and hang around after to enjoy wine, Kim’s Got Smoke and live music by Evan Egerer from 3-6 pm in the Ron Lawn!. Sunnyside/Grandview/Prosser Area Wineries

$14 Hands – On Saturday, October 13th, join us for our 4th Seasonal Release of 2018.  Our 2016 Seasonal Malbec, from the Horse Heaven Hills, will be hand-bottled in our barrel room at 14 Hands throughout the day.  Seasonal release is limited to one-barrel production.  $7 non-refundable tasting fee includes a complimentary logo glass.  Premier pass holders receive a 10% discount on 6 bottles of wine or a 15% discount on case purchases.  Open daily, 10am-5pm.  Tour buses by appointment only. 21 and over.

Airfield Estates – Experience the rush of crush at Airfield Estates! Join the fun and take home some of our favorite Fall wines! Premier Pass holders receive free admission and 20% off mix & match 4-packs. ♥Barrel Springs Winery – Join us as we celebrate one of the most wonderful times of the year….HARVEST! Premier Pass holders will have the tasting fee waived, along with complimentary artisan cheese paired perfectly with our flight of premium wines. Neighbor’s “Texas Style” BBQ will be on site Saturday to serve up some delicious bites you can enjoy on the back patio with a glass of wine! We will feature special pricing on “case” purchases along with some weekend specials and discounts you won’t want to miss! 10-5pm

Chinook Winery –Activities and Pass benefits are on the way.

$Co Dinn Cellars – Join us at Co Dinn Cellars in Sunnyside for a relaxed Catch the Crush. This is the perfect time of year to “Catch” some rays on the patio as well! For Premier Pass holders and Wine Club members we will be pouring samples of 2016-2018 Elephant Mountain red wine. See how the wine develops and changes from fermentor through barrel aging and then in the bottle. And while here ask us about C-BASS…the newly formed Craft Beverage Association of Sunnyside!

$Côte Bonneville – Be the first to taste the 2018s!  We will be pouring Cabernet fermentations for Premier Pass holders and wine club members.  Taste through a vertical of finished wines from the same rows in the vineyard to discover how they evolve over time.  Open Wed – Sun 10-5, private tastings by appointment.

♥Domanico Cellars – Activities and Pass benefits tare on the way.

$Fortuity Cellars – During your Catch the Crush weekend, visit Fortuity Cellars and experience harvest firsthand at our winery incubator, one of two located on the Yakima Valley College Grandview Campus.  As Yakima Valley’s newest winery, come see how we’ve taken grape to bottle in less than a year. Tasting fee is $10, waived for wine club members or with a bottle purchase. Premier pass holders and wine club members may also participate in harvest activities like “punchdowns” with winemaker Johnny Brose and taste a side-by-side of newly fermented wine with last year’s vintage.

♥Thurston Wolfe Winery – Activities and Pass benefits tare on the way.

$Wit Cellars – Come visit Wit Cellars! We’ll be waiving tasting fees with purchase for Premier Pass holders and 15% off bottle purchases. Specials on glass pours.  It’s harvest time, so we’ll have some fun, educational components as well. Come enjoy our patio, where picnics, dogs, and kids are totally welcome. ♥Yakima Valley Vintners – You are invited to a complimentary educational tour of the Teaching Winery. Visitors will be guided on a crush pad, where you will be able to sample grapes and comparative wines. Come taste the award-winning student made wines and receive a 10% discount by the bottle or 20% discount by the case for premier pass holders. The tasting fee is also waived for Premier Pass holders.

Red Mountain Area Wineries

♥Chandler Reach Vineyards – $10.00 tasting fee waived for Premier Pass holders and Wine Club Members.  Bring your own glass or purchase a Chandler Reach Signature glass for $5.00.  Pass holders will also receive a 15% discount on regular-priced wine purchases. Come out and enjoy our newly released 2017 Pinot Grigio. Case specials offered all weekend. LIVE MUSIC Saturday afternoon.

Cooper Wine Company – Activities and Pass benefits are on the way.

♥Hightower Cellars – Tasting Through Time With Hightower Cellars – From fermentation, through barrel aging, bottle aging, and long-term cellar aging, experience a grape’s transformation from a tiny sweet grape to a big, beautiful, age worthy wine. Hightower Cellars will guide you through an exciting sensory experience of grapes, juice and wines of various ages. $15 tasting fee waived for pass holders and Hightower Wine Club Members.

$Kitzke Cellars – Experience the beauty of Candy Mountain and our Candy Ridge Vineyard at Kitzke Cellars during Catch the Crush weekend.  Taste our delicious and award winning Kitzke Cellars and Upsidedown wines while learning about the unique terroir that sets us apart.  Enjoy the experience of tasting the grapes right off the vines and compare it to the wine in your glass.  Bring a picnic to enjoy while you experience our little piece of paradise on Candy Mountain.  Premier Pass holders receive 15% off mix & match of Kitzke Cellars wines when your purchase 4 or more bottles.  “Give Back” through our Upsidedown Wines where every bottle purchased gives back to its given charity.  Glass pour specials will also be available for select Upsidedown and Kitzke Cellars wines.  Kitzke Cellars has a $5 nonrefundable fee for this event weekend.

$Purple Star Winery – Join Purple Star Winery for an up close and personal harvest experience! Wine Club members and Premier Pass holders will enjoy an in-depth look at the stages of harvest and a 10% discount off wine purchase. We will have Fat Umbrella Food Truck on site all weekend and plenty of seating to sit back, have a glass of wine, a bite to eat and enjoy all the harvest action! 10.00 tasting fee refunded with bottle purchase. Logo glasses available to purchase. Buses by appointment only. Open 11-5pm.

♥Sleeping Dog Wines – Although watching someone else work during Catch the Crush can be entertaining, it can start to look the same. The real excitement and reason to come out is to taste the variety of wines! We’ll be pouring samples of multiple wines from Crushes of the past, including the initial release of our 2009 Syrah!

♥Tapteil Vineyard Winery – Taste the newly released Artist Series Syrah 2016. Stomp grapes at Tapteil Vineyard Winery while enjoying a sweeping panoramic view of the Red Mountain AVA and the entire Yakima River Valley from this hilltop terrace. This is a photo op straight out of I Love Lucy! Bring a camera and a picnic. Taste estate grown wines and imported olive oil and vinegars in the tasting room. Winemaker and grape grower, Larry Pearson and label artist, Jane Pearson will be on hand to chat during your visit. A $10 tasting fee will be waived for Premier Pass holders. Buses by appointment only.  Premier Passes are available for sale at Tapteil beginning Saturday, October 13

♥Terra Blanca Winery – Premier Pass holders (and wine club members) will be able to enjoy complimentary wine tastings of our award-winning, estate-produced wines, waiving our normal tasting fees. Mount Townsend Creamery will be here with a variety of delicious cheese samples that we will pair with our wines that are sure to make your mouth water. Alongside Mount Townsend, Three Rivers Gourmet will be here sampling delicious vinegars and olive oils to round out your food and wine experience. The Terra Blanca Vineyard Grill will be open for lunch with service beginning at noon. We are the ultimate venue for food and wine with plenty of options, including local beer on tap. We will also be running some amazing wine specials throughout the weekend that will help you stock your cellars.

♥Tucannon Cellars – This year at Tucannon Cellars for Catch the Crush, we will be serving a 3-year vertical of our Cabernet Franc, as well as pouring our 2014 Red Fusion blend. Premier Pass holders and Wine Club Members will receive waived tasting fees.  *No buses on Saturday*
We will be closing on Saturday at 4:00 for a private event, so come early!
