While owner/winemaker David Padgett’s goal is to bring fine wines to the wine lover, what’s most important to him is that you have fun. According to David, wine is bottled pleasure and it needs to be approachable. To this and, he produces a full range of wines designed to please every palate, from that of the occasional wine taster to the seasoned oenophile. Included in his line up are ports, for which Maisonde Padgett enjoysa large following. The winery and grounds are spacious, with architectural detail that lends itself to an English-style garden large enough to host weddings and other events.

The nearest town is Zillah, which is located in the Rattlesnake Hills sub-appellation of the Yakima Valley. Here you will find a handful of smaller producers creating stellar wines in an eclectic set of tasting rooms. There are more wineries in this neighborhood than space to write about them. The following is a list of the stand-out tasting rooms you won’t want to miss during your visit to the Rattlesnake Hills region of the Yakima Valley.
