Harvest Report ~ September 18, 2012

Naches Heights Vineyard:
September 18, 2012   Pinot Gris came in Monday at Naches Heights Vineyard.  This is the earliest date that we have pulled Pinot Gris from this higher elevation AVA.  What a year and compared to last year the extreme opposite.  We are scheduled to pick Tempranillo at Two Coyote vineyard in the Yakima Valley Thursday.  Verdello on Friday which to my knowledge will be the first crop of this Portuguese white grape.  The fruit continues to shine and we are very excited about what is in store for not only us but Washington Wine. “NHV Owner, Phil Cline

Tefft Cellars:
September 13, 2012   It’s all about the vineyard right now. Our main focus is Merlot, Syrah and Viognier. The Merlot is around 24 Brix, the Syrah is nearing 22 Brix. The cool, clean morning air is getting the anticipation of crush all energized. I even noticed some color change in the tree leaves on the way in today.  “Winemaker, Tefft Cellars, Jon Zimmermann
