Horizon’s Edge Winery is a working winery, from vineyard to bottling. Adjacent to the winery is an 18-acre parcel of Yakima Valley wine grapes for the winery’s use. The tasting room, located upstairs in a loft, allows you to take in the spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams. If you enjoy port-style wine, try Horizon’s Edge Naked Raspberry Port-Style Wine or Cutting Edge Chardonnay Ice Wine. If sweet isn’t your preference, winemaker/owner David Padgett has Bordeaux-style estate wines that will hit the spot.

Located in the Rattlesnake Hills sub-appellation of the Yakima Valley is the town of Zillah. Here you will find a handful of smaller producers creating stellar wines in an eclectic set of tasting rooms. There are more wineries in this neighborhood than space to write about them. The following is a list of the stand-out tasting rooms you won’t want to miss during your visit to the Rattlesnake Hills region of the Yakima Valley.
