Virtual tastings with Yakima Valley wineries

Washington’s shelter-in-place order has spawned a new form of drinking.  The new norm: virtual wine tastings.

The wine business is a social industry. Built on relationships between wineries, wine lovers, and all the places people buy and enjoy wine. The way these relationships are being fostered today is drastically different in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The logic goes, people will buy wine if they visit your winery in person, make connections with the winemakers and take in the vineyard views. With tasting rooms closed, wineries are doing their best to improvise and innovateto keep sales moving. Many of the small, locally owned wineries in the Yakima Valley rely solely on income from tasting room sales. Without tasting room traffic, wineries are looking for new alternatives.

Wineries have moved their tasting rooms on-line by launching virtual tasting opportunities. The following Yakima Valley wineries are going digital with their tastings. Give them a call, order wine and experience the following virtual opportunities.

Cote Bonneville Winery winemaker Kerry Shiels is offering a weekly, 5pm virtual #happyhour. Featuring a series of new releases, Shiels will focus on stylistic choices, pairings, and more. Tastings will feature discussion of the wine, food pairings, what’s happening in the vineyards and some Q&A. Order your #Happyhour 3-pack at and join in on Zoom.

Domanico Cellars – Virtual tasting every Saturday from 5 to 6 on Zoom.  Check with the winery for meeting id number.

Terra Blanca Virtual Tastings have officially begun! Since we’re currently unable to conduct tastings in person right now, we want to be able to continue to connect with all of you and share our passion for wine, and to help with this, we’re hosting interactive Virtual Tastings every Wednesday and Friday at 2pm and 5pm, see below how to tune in and join us!

It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere | Each tasting day (Wednesday and Friday) will have two time slots, one at 2pm and one at 5pm so people with different schedules can join us at their convenience! We will have many special guests throughout these tastings such as our Owner and Winemaker, Keith Pilgrim, and our Winery Executive Chef Jim Vande Berg! The next Virtual Tasting being held this Friday will be focusing on one of our newly-released 2019 Arch Terrace Rosé (currently on case special)!
