Yakima Valley showcases the SECRETS to growing world-class wines

YAKIMA, WASH—(Jan. 28, 2021)— Wine consumers are accustom toreading a wine label to see the grape varietal(s) inside.  But what is thestory behind the grape?

Yakima Valley growers are pulling back the curtain to share their vineyard secrets, stories, and a personal side of the day to day – something we as consumers rarely if ever get to enjoy.  As the backbone of the Washington wine industry the Yakima Valley AVA is home to some of the state’s most iconic and well-known vineyards and growers – and we are proud to share their stories.

The beginning and end of grape season may get all the attention, but it is the year-round labor of love that makes the wine what it is. From February, when the slow and expensive process of pruning begins, grape growers are intently focused on the vintage ahead. Bud break, bloom, fruit set, irrigation, leaf thinning, fruit thinning, canopy management – it doesn’t end.  Farming wine grapes is a year-long process. And we want to share it with you.

A new vineyard will be showcased each month on Yakima Valley AVAs Social Media platforms and newsletter.
